Lilibeth Normand

 

Lilibeth Normand is founder and director of Expresiones: Spanish Language and Mexican Arts, where she also teaches Spanish and Latin Dances for Adults and Children.

​

Lilibeth Normand is an energetic and enthusiastic facilitator with excellent communication skills and genuine interest in students. Develops creative and dynamic learning strategies that actively engage students. Motivates discipline and cultivates a learning environment.

Spanish Instructor knowledge and experience:

​

Born in Mexico, Lili has a Master Degree in Corporate Communication from Anahuac-Mayab University in Yucatán, Mexico. She also has taken teaching skills courses in Mexico and in Canada, and a language teaching certification from Olds College, Alberta .

​

In Mexico, Lili has worked as a facilitator for Corporates where she developed and taught courses as: Team Work, Vision,  Effective communication and specialized courses for employees. She has also worked as a language instructor for Universities and High Schools in Campeche, Mexico.  

 

In Canada she started teaching Spanish for Adults in 2010 and for children in 2011.  She has also provided cultural workshops for Schools and Non-Profit Organizations.

 

She is a former member of the Children French Society (SPEFSA) in Calgary, where she facilitated activities for children such as story time, music and creative movement.

​

In Slave Lake, she has offered private and group lessons for adults. Lili has also taught Spanish 10 course for High School students at Koinonia Christian School.

Dance Instructor knowledge and experience:

​

Lili started dancing at the age of 3.  Her dance foundation is ballet. She took ballet lessons for 17 years.  While taking ballet, she also learned other dance styles like jazz, Hawaiian, Mexican folklore, afro-cuban dance and hip-hop.  She graduated from Ana Rosa Cáceres Superior Dance School in Mexico where she was selected to be part of the ballet company.

Later, Lili had the opportunity to take Salsa lessons and she felt in love with the style. Her love for Salsa lead her to take multiple lessons and workshops. She travelled to different cities in Mexico, States and Canada to attend Salsa Events and where she learned other latin dances like Merengue and Bachata.  

​

In 2004, she started teaching latin dances and performing for Latin Corner Dance Studios in Calgary.  

In 2006, she worked as a Salsa Instructor for Ana Pavlova Dance School and she founded "Merecumbe", a latin dance company in Mexico, where she choreographed many shows for her students.  

​

Later, she moved back to Canada where she has taught salsa group and private lessons for couples and ladies style lessons.

​

Lilibeth is focused on providing great  lessons with a high level of customer satisfaction. She cares about her students and she wants them to have fun while learning.
